How to Get Visible Abs?
Getting a flat stomach or a six pack for the summer is a dream for many people. What does it take to get visible abs?
A common myth that many people still believe in is that you get a toned stomach by doing crunches daily or workout your abs after every workout in the gym. This is not true. It takes more than that to succeed.
There is an important ground rule you should know before you start. The abs works just like all your other muscles in the body. They need to rest in order to recover, in other words, it’s not very smart to do daily abdominal crunches after every workout. That will not help you get visible abs.
One thing you also should keep in mind is that in order to get the visible abs or a flatter stomach usually requires an adjustment in the diet as well. To review your diet is by far the best way to reduce the fat around your stomach even though you can’t specifically target an area where you want to burn fat.
Many strength exercises that are activating the stomach are significantly better than for example doing sit-ups. Adding more squats, deadlifts and other heavy compound exercises activates the abdominal muscles more than people think.
You can certainly add a few extra abdominal exercises once or twice a week, such as the “Plank”, crunches in TRX, the “Jack knife” or hanging leg raises for example.
In the end will it however be the diet and your daily intake that determines whether you get visible abs or not. In other words, it’s smart to rethink about “how to get visible abs” and start focusing on a proper diet.
