Setting goals is a very important aspect of being successful in whatever you decide to do. Without a detailed plan a dream becomes just a wish. With proper planning it could become reality. How bad you want it? Take your time to really setup a good plan. With a good plan you don’t have to doubt yourself along the road and trust me, those moments will come for sure.
Decide What You Want!
A lot of people say “I want to lose 15 pounds” but in reality they don’t give a damn about the actual number, they just want to look good in the mirror. You see what I mean? This is a very common mistake. Be honest and very specific about what you REALLY want.
Be positive when stating your goals!
I always tell my clients to set their goals on a good day. When something good happened to you or when you feeling happy for whatever reason or just simply feeling very motivated.
Start small but keep on walking!
Set realistic goals, it’s much better to set small but reachable goals. You will feel much better when you achieve a small goal than you would fail a big one. It’s impossible to lose 15 pounds in one day but what can you actually do in one day that would make you look better in the mirror? Workout and get a tan, I’m serious. There is a number of good chemically reactions in the body when you work out that would make you feel so much better. The tan is just an example but it will improve your appearance in just one day.
Don’t underestimate yourself!
When I said set small goals I didn’t mean sell yourself short in any way. You are stronger than you think. To be successful with most of your goals you really have to be mentally strong. This is my own opinion and I base it on my own experience with my clients. I would say that most of the people sell them self short. For example most of you quit when it “starts” felling heavy in the gym or when you are out running. If you would just surpass that thought and tell yourself NO WAY, I’M NOT GOING TO QUIT THIS TIME, I DECIDE WHEN I’M DONE; you would see that your heart is stronger than your mind most of the times! Stay strong and you could achieve amazing things.
Write it down!
Set precise goals, put in dates, times and amounts so that you can measure your progress. If you do this, you’ll know exactly when you have achieved the goal and you can take complete satisfaction in how AWESOME YOU ARE!
If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else
