TOP 5 – FUN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
The summer is almost here and not everyone want to spend their sun hours at the gym. There are also a lot of people that don’t want to renew their membership just simply because they don’t know how much time they would actually spend there during the summer. What do you do?
I love working out in the nature so I decided to put together my top 5 – fun outdoor activities.
#5 – Jogging
The Treadmill is probably the most popular machine at the gym but who needs it when the sun is saying god morning? It’s just plain dumb to have a membership at a gym and take the car to the gym for a 30 minutes run on a treadmill don’t you think? Why don’t you just take a jog in the nature? It’s a great way to get in shape, get a nice tan and it’s absolutely free!
#4 – Stair Climbing
Once again, skip the gym and hit the nearest field track or any other place with plenty of steps. I’m usually running a 400m lap and then goes straight to the stairs with the “Rocky Theme” Eye of the tiger blasting in my ears. I love this workout in the morning when the temperature is a little bit lower and when the places are less crowded.
#3 – Cycling
I hate the stationary bicycles at the gym. I much rather take on my helmet and hit the forest or any other bumpy path I could think of. If you’re not in to this kind of thing then you could take your bike for a little longer trip with a nice picnic basket and set camp for a nice lunch somewhere in the sun. Many people prefer biking instead of walking or running, it’s fun and easy.
#2 – Inline Skating
Personally I love the roller hockey games but that’s not for everyone. No matter if you want to play hockey or just take a glide in the sun is it a great way to tone your body. I don’t see this as training since it’s so damn funny! One other nice aspect of it all is, that it takes me back to my childhood when I’m gliding downhill with a nice breeze in my face. FOREVER YOUNG!
#1 – Park-based Circuit Training
Many parks have basic circuit training stations that may seem simple but I promise you they work! They may appeal as a play structures for children but they are very effective. You can work on pull-ups, dips, jumps, balancing drills and other body weight resistance exercises. It’s a great feeling being outdoors at the “gym”. I often meet a lot of nice people and people in general are very kind and polite since its summer and sunny!
I hope you enjoyed my top 5 outdoor activities.
